Sperry Top Sider

HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVS...

So the latest trend at my school are Sperry's! They're cute versatile boat shoes that come in plenty of different styles! The first picture is the Bahama Pink (journeys.com). The second picture is the Seasonal Bahama in Indigo Tye-dye (sperrytopsider.com). The third picture is the Bahama Purple/Multi (journeys.com). My schoolmates wear them with jeans, tees, and sweatshirts. But how would you wear them?

I KNOW I HAVEN'T BEEN ON IN FOREVER!

I had my 1st casting call a couple weeks back and I got booked for Fashion Board which is like doing small jobs like charity runways and being a live model at the mall just until I can get my walk together (IT NEEDS WORK). I can even get the outfit I was wearing discounted or for free! Love it! The interview was great in fact the interviewer, Dani said she loves Khalia and I! I wasn't scared at all Dani was so sweet and down-to-earth! I can't wait for my 1st job! Barbizon's modeling school asked me if I was interested in joining they said I had "the look" but we turned them down since I will be moving back home soon. But it's awesome that they would consider me! Uh...I decided Mr.A and I will just be friends which is cool because he's stupid anyway. So I DO NOT like him anymore. I think that's about it! XO,-M.

The Broken Hearted Girl

OMG you guys so my friend "Mr. A" (who I'm starting to like as more than just a friend) said the sweetest thing to me today! I have been having issues with this girl Marquisha (Lol spell check couldn't even get that name) who's been a straight hater since last year! I don't even talk to, or about her, nothing! I barely know the chick! So I don't know why she always has my name in her mouth. So I decided to take a stand yesterday and tell the chick off, which I DID! Lol, so Mr. A & I walked out of our classes at the same time...and he was like "Hey M. (I NEVER have to say hi first and he sometimes goes out of his way to do so) don't worry about those girls, especially Marquisha, that girl has a forest growing underneath her arms! Lol, hilarious right? Then he goes "So yeah keep your head up". I almost melted! I didn't even know boys at our age could be that sweet! But I soon came back to reality when Scar. HIS GIRLFRIEND (who's a 7th grader!) came up and we went our separate ways ): I wasn't really feeling him last year though and I now regret it! Yes, you can now start to feel sorry for The Broken Hearted Girl.

I LOVE This Dress!

I found this beautiful magenta Marc By Marc Jacobs dress (on the girl to the left) in Marie Claire, and fell in love. I think this fashionista did a awesome job of dressing the rest of the fit down with black stockings, heels, and handbag so the cool colored dress could take center stage since it is kind of on the busy side! I just had to share it with you guys! Thoughts- could you see yourself wearing this and if so, where?

Stereotypes

OMG, one of the things I dislike about people is how WE ALL stereotype! I don't know how many times since I have been in TX I have been told "Your so white", "Why do you always hang w/ the white people?", etc. I get looked up and down all the time, get treated differently from people I don't even know, and once one of my Caucasian friends said "I bet you're probably the only Black girl I could take." It really gets on my nerves! I say, "I don't know that's just the way I am". I'm not changing the way I talk, dress, & act for anyone! I was just always taught to be respectful & talk in a educated manner. In Seattle I was never so shut out by MY OWN race as I am here, maybe if people didn't make me feel that way I WOULD hang w/ you guys. But I would rather stick w/ African Americans that I can be on the same level w/ & people that make me happy! Just because I'm not "hood" or whatever does not make me anymore different from you! And this "hood" persona African Americans put on just makes other races think we are like that (WHICH ISN'T TRUE!), loud and ghetto. I want to prove them wrong! It's time to change our image in society. Afterall, we do have our first African American President! Barack Obama's whole campaign was focused on CHANGE, ISN'T IT TIME WE GOT SOME!?
